The full credit option requires that a student participate and earn 110 contact hours.  A contact hour is defined as an hour of rehearsal or work that the student does in the presence of a representative of Oak Park Theatre.

To obtain these hours a student will need to participate in the majority of performances that take place at Oak Park.

Course Handbook

Course Requirements

Students do not need to have any previous experience to participate in Theatre Practicum.  Oak Park Drama classes are recommended but not required.

To receive a credit a student must attend class and acquire 110 hours of contact time.  A student accumulates time by participating in any of the following activities:

                                                          1.) Evening of Scenes

2.) The Premiere Performance (Gas Station Theatre)

                                                          3.) The Student Directed Performance

4.) Tech support for any show at Oak Park

                                                          5.) Manitoba Drama Festival

These are just a few of the performance opportunities at Oak Park.  This is a student-initiated course and students are encouraged to write, organize, perform their work anytime.  If the student has an idea and cares to present it publicly they are encouraged to speak to Mr. Alexander regarding how to make that happen.

Students must attend classes that they are needed.  A student may be excused by the teacher if the student is not required for a rehearsal.  Students will be given a rehearsal schedule when appropriate.  Students will be given notice of any changes to the schedule as soon as possible.
